What makes an Effective Promotional Product

Other than the use of conventional print advertisements and the use of the use of billboards, TV commercials, Promotional Product's serve the purpose to get a company's name into the public eye by assisting them in building a reputation.

The trick to finding effective promotional products is to ask the question what makes a promotional product effective? The answer is the best is one that gets used. If items are getting used, anyone who sees the product is being exposed to your company as well as the recipient being constantly reminded of your company as well as receiving a gift. Some of the cheapest promotional products are often the most effective. For example, a Pen or Tote Bag can be used by almost anyone on a daily basis and are usually well under $5 per item.

They are portable and people can carry these items with them and are seen by others. This is one of the great qualities of promotional products, the recipient uses the product and get's your company's name out into the community. If we look at a few different but very popular promotional products we can see some of the advantages and drawbacks to each one: Key Chains are portable and would likely be used a lot by the recipients; however few people may see them, since they will spend a majority of time in the recipients? purses or wallets. A prime example is Refrigerator magnets they are used by the recipients, but they don't get much exposure to third parties if any.

They are a fantastic idea if you want your recipients to be constantly reminded of your company and to have your contact information readily available should they need to find your number quickly. Not so useful if you are looking to get your name out to third parties. Tote Bags are portable and can be seen by many, but there may only be few people who will use them daily. This may be an exception if you run a clothing, shoe, skateboard or auto graphics company that is perceived as 'hip' or 'cool'. Pens are a great option that combines the portability of a keychain, the effectiveness of a refrigerator magnet, and the visibility and usefulness of a Tote Bag. Generally this is one of the best options for someone who wants to get all three benefits out of one very cost efficient promotional product. This is especially true if your recipients have clients that they can pass on the pens. One of the best parts about good promotional products is that the return on investment is huge. A pen with your company's logo may cost only a dollar or two or even less, but the reach of that one pen can be worth thousands.
